I am pretty good at expressing love in words. The poet in me finds no hard time writing things of love. But I found a poem, by someone else that is by far the best definition of love, the kind of love I long for, that I have ever read. I want to share it with you:
“I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you simply, without problems or pride: I love you in this way because I do not know any other way of loving but this, in which there is no I or you, so intimate that your hand upon my chest is my hand, so intimate that when I fall asleep your eyes close.”
― Pablo Neruda, 100 Love Sonnets
Oh My Word! When I read this my breath caught in my throat. I am indeed this way! And I know no other way to love. So how hard it is, how complicated, how terrifying to hope that I could find someone that wishes to love and be loved this way!
Oh how deep my love will be for you
Oh how far and wide and deep it will run
Oh how warm and soft my love will feel to you
Oh how sweet and true it will be
Oh how passionate and intense it will feel
Oh how it will fill every part of you
Oh how long and far I will run to love you this way
Oh how long I will wait patiently for you
Oh how dark and magical this love will be
Oh how it will be everything you could ever need
Oh how surprised you will be when you see me
Oh how amazed that love is this way
Oh how sexy and brilliant our talks will be
Oh how intimate and special our time alone will be
Oh how you will long for me
Oh how I will long for you
Oh how long must I wait for you?
Oh how long must you wait for me?
Oh dearest stranger, love of my life, fixer of the broken
Oh how long must we wait?
Oh how long to endure the silence without you
Oh how long to sleep alone
Oh how my love, how shall I go on without you?
Oh how long my love must we wait for an embrace, a kiss, a touch?
Oh love the deepest ocean, the longest moment, the darkest night
Oh love the brightest day, the tallest mountain, the longest road
Oh how love these things could never keep us apart
Oh how love nothing can keep us apart
Oh love, fate shall bring us together
Oh love, the future will be bright
Oh love that day will be glorious
Oh love that day will be beautiful
Oh love that day will be forever
Huh, not sure where that came from. lol. Sometimes these things just kinda pour out of me. Indeed sometimes I wonder if there is something wrong with me.
I am always here.
